June McBride, M.A. Author & Founder of Path to Scholarships® & Edudaris®

June McBride, M.A. is the founder and CEO of Outreach Youth Empowerment, LLC, a growing company focused on a dream and a vision for the families and children of this world. She has been traveling throughout the U.S. conducting Path to Scholarships® workshops and trainings.

As an author, founder of Path to Scholarships® and Edudaris® June Pichardo-McBride is a first generation Latina from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic with family roots from Italy and Spain. June's entire life since her youth, has been one of serving Latino families for now over 50 years through church ministry, the educational arena, and migrant education teaching and counseling underrepresented and at-risk youth, primarily Latinos from elementary school through college.

She motivates students to "Dare to Dream Great Dreams" and teaches career and college readiness with scholarship planning that guides students to organize materials to apply successfully to college and for scholarships.

Gerardo Ochoa, Ed.M.

Gerardo Ochoa is from Zamora, Michoacán Mexico. He graduated from the University of Oregon where he majored in Sociology and minored in Latin American History. Mr. Ochoa has extensive experience working with underrepresented youth in higher education, primarily Latinos at the middle school, high school, and undergraduate level. His most recent endeavors involve working with students to provide them the tools, resources, and motivation to successfully apply and compete for scholarship funding, an essential element to completing a college education.

Gerardo Ochoa is a contributing author of Path to Scholarships® 2016 Student Guide and the 2008 College Edition and works directly with Oregon high schools, nonprofit organizations, colleges, and universities conducting student Path to Scholarships® workshops. In addition, since 2004, he has been with Linfield College, Portland Campus where he is currently the Associate Director of Financial Aid.

Valerie Peake, educator, consultant, and motivational speaker has been a professional educator since 1995. Her teaching experience includes public schools PK-12, ESL, LOTE and Migrant. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas and a Master Degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Woman's University.

Valerie has been working with the Migrant Education Program since 2000. She was a classroom teacher for ten years, a district coordinator for four years, and an educational consultant for the Region 10 Education Service Center in Richardson, Texas for three years. Her area of specialty is Secondary ESL/LOTE/Migrant. She became one of the first certified Path to Scholarships® Trainers in 2005.

Joshua David McBride graduated from the University of Florida, where he majored in Marketing with a minor in Accounting. Joshua has extensive experience working with Latino families teaching adult English classes and American citizenship classes and underrepresented youth, primarily Latinos in middle school and high school through his volunteer work in Winter Garden, Florida and his experience with Notre Dame Americorps, Apopka, Florida.

Joshua was honored with the prestigious Certificate of National Service Award in recognition of his commitment to our communities and his successful completion of two years of volunteer service as a full-time member of AmeriCorps.



Doris Roundtree, Ed.D.

Dr. Doris Roundtree, a native of Florida graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida A&M University with a B.A. in French and M.A. in Guidance and Counseling. She also earned a Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision and an Ed.D. in Early Childhood Education from Nova Southeastern University. Her experience in education includes the secondary guidance counselor, teacher, and assistant principal.

Currently, Dr. Roundtree is a member of the National HEP/CAMP Association and serves as a member of the Georgia Tutoring Association (GATA), Tift County Commission on Children and Youth, and the Tift County Extension Service Family and Consumer Science Advisory Committee. In addition, she served as the scholarship advisor to recipients of The Goizueta Scholars Fund Scholarship from 2004-2007, a member of Abraham Baldwin's Quality Enhancement Plan Team for the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of College and Schools (SACS).
